Eligibility Criteria for QOTY Quizzer of the Year
1. Citizenship: Participants must be Indian nationals residing in India.
2. QOTY School Contest: Students in classes 9-12 (or equivalent in registered junior colleges) in the academic year 2023-24 are eligible for the QOTY School Contest.
- Access to Technology: Participants need access to a smartphone, tablet, or laptop/desktop computer with suitable OS and specifications to download and operate the Sony LIV app, along with a stable internet connection.
- Parental Consent: For minor contestants, parents/legal guardians must read and accept all Terms & Conditions of the contest and the Sony Liv app.
- Age Requirement: Students should be in the 13-18 years age bracket as of 1st April 2023.
- Language Proficiency: Since the QOTY School Contest is conducted in English, students should be proficient in the language.
Categories in QOTY Quiz Contest
QOTY DAILY (App Quizzes, WebApp):
- Open to all, including students in classes 9 to 12.
- No age limit for participation.
- Individual player quizzes.
- No participation fee.
QOTY SELECT (App Quizzes, WebApp):
- Students of classes 9-12 scoring a minimum of 500 points in QOTY Daily are eligible.
- Requires a participation fee of INR 100.
- Students aged 13-18 years.
- Medium of conduct: English.
QOTY CITY:
- Top 1,000 participants from each City-Zone qualify for City-1 round.
- Participants must have access to Zoom/Kahoot apps and a stable internet connection.
- Consent from parents/guardians for app usage is necessary.
- City-2 onwards, participation is subject to school principals submitting verified documents.
How to Register for QOTY Quiz Contest?
- Download the SonyLIV app from the application store (free of cost, data charges may apply).
- Select the ‘Quizzer of the Year’ (QOTY) banner/thumbnail on SonyLIV.
- Register under ‘General’ or ‘Class 9-12 Student’ as applicable.
- Enter personal details, including mobile number, name, email ID, city, DOB, gender, class, and school information.
- Complete registration by accepting the Terms and Conditions.
Note: Registration flow is subject to change as deemed fit by the company.
Contest Structure of QOTY Quizzer of the Year
- QOTY Daily:
- Participants attempt quizzes on the SonyLIV app from April 09, 2023, onwards.
- QOTY Select:
- Students of classes 9-12 scoring a minimum of 500 points in QOTY Daily qualify.
- Quiz held between December 01, 2023, to December 10, 2023.
- QOTY City -1:
- Top 1,000 participants from each City-Zone participate between December 20, 2023, and January 01, 2024, on Zoom/Kahoot.
- QOTY City-2:
- Top 16 scorers from each City Zone form teams and participate between January 08, 2024, and January 20, 2024, on Zoom/Kahoot.
- QOTY Nationals:
- Winning teams from City-2 qualify for the National round between February 15, 2024, and February 27, 2024.
- National finalists compete in prelim rounds, semi-final, and final.
